Config, sync and backup
Sync your settings across computers with Google Drive, or export them to a file.
All your settings stay in your browser: providers, prompts, styles, shortcuts and glossaries. You can carry them to another computer in two ways, both in Preferences → Config.
Sync with Google Drive
Click Sync to Google Drive and sign in with Google. Duet Translate keeps a copy of your settings in your own Drive:
- If the copy in Drive is newer, it’s downloaded. If yours is newer, it’s uploaded.
- If both changed, you choose which value to keep for each setting that differs, or keep all of one side.
- Glossaries sync term by term, so terms added on two computers are merged rather than one list replacing the other.
Sync again on each computer whenever you want to bring it up to date. Logout disconnects Google Drive.
Export and import
Export saves your settings, glossaries included, to a file. You choose whether to include your API keys; leave them out if you’ll share the file or keep it somewhere others can read. Import loads a file exported before, on this or another computer.
Export before you reinstall the extension or reset your browser, so you can put everything back.
See the raw config
Open config shows your current settings as JSON. It’s useful when asking for help.
If something breaks
If the settings page can’t load after an update or a bad import, Duet Translate opens a recovery screen. Export your settings from there first, then reset and import them again.
