Selection translation
Select a word or sentence on any page to translate it, hear it, or run an AI action on it.
The selection toolbar
Select some text on a page and a small toolbar appears next to it:
- Translate shows the translation in a panel beside the text, without changing the page.
- Speak reads the selection aloud (read aloud).
- Your AI actions, such as Dictionary, explain or rework the selection (custom AI actions).
You can also press Alt + T to translate a selection without the toolbar, or right-click it and choose Duet Translate’s translate entry.
Choose what the toolbar shows
In Selection Toolbar in the settings:
- turn each button on or off, and choose which AI actions appear,
- set the toolbar’s opacity,
- list disabled sites where it never appears.
The × on the toolbar also turns it off for the current site, or everywhere.
Which provider it uses
Selection translation has its own provider under API Providers → Feature providers, so you can use a fast free service for pages and a stronger AI model for selections, or the other way round.
