Compatible API providers
Connect OpenRouter, SiliconFlow, Volcengine or any service that speaks the OpenAI Chat Completions or Open Responses API.
Many AI services use the same API as OpenAI. Duet Translate can talk to any of them.
Services set up for you
OpenRouter, SiliconFlow, Volcengine (Doubao), MiniMax, Atlas Cloud and others appear under Compatible API providers when you click Add provider. Their address is filled in, so you only add your key and a model.
Any other service
Choose one of these and fill in the address yourself:
- Custom Chat Complete: for services that follow the OpenAI Chat Completions API. Most do, including LM Studio, vLLM, LiteLLM and One API.
- Custom Responses: for services that follow the Open Responses API.
Then:
- Enter the Base URL the service gives you, usually ending in
/v1, such ashttps://api.example.com/v1. Don’t add/chat/completions. - Enter the API key. If the service doesn’t need one, leave it empty.
- Enter the model name exactly as the service spells it, or click Fetch available models.
- Click Test connection.
If it doesn’t connect
- 404 or “not found”: check the base URL. Try it with and without
/v1. - 401 or “unauthorized”: check the key, and that it has credit.
- The model doesn’t exist: copy the model name from the service’s own list.
- A service on your own computer or network: it must allow requests from the browser (CORS). Check its settings for allowed origins.
