DeepL

Use the official DeepL API with your own key, on the free or the paid plan.

Get a key

  1. Sign up for the DeepL API. The DeepL API Free plan includes a monthly character allowance at no cost; paid plans have none.
  2. In your DeepL account, open API Keys and copy your key.

Add it in Duet Translate

  1. On API Providers, click Add provider and choose DeepL.
  2. Paste your key.
  3. Click Test connection.
  4. Under Feature providers, choose the features that should use DeepL.

Keys from the free plan end in :fx. Duet Translate recognises them and sends them to DeepL’s free API address by itself, so there’s nothing else to set.

Good to know

  • The free plan stops working for the rest of the month once its allowance is used up. Your usage is on DeepL’s site.
  • DeepL doesn’t follow prompts or glossaries set in Duet Translate, and can’t run AI actions.
